Chinese haircuts costs the same for men and women – the real China vlog

Chinese people are as able to use scissors as anyone, as you’ll see in this China haircut video. (You can see the scissor action at 2:52) What actually astounded me about the process of getting a haircut in China is that men and women are charged the same price. In America, women’s haircuts cost way more money!

But my worry: Can a Chinese hairstylist cut curly hair?

The verdict: They’re definitely no Devachan! But they do the job. And … equal haircut for equal pay! (I’m really amazed by this. I spent SO MUCH money taking care of my hair in New York.)

They haven’t solved sexism in China, of course. Being a Chinese tiger mom sounds like a lot of pressure, for one thing. But in this world, you’ve got to find that equality where you can.
